Exclamation Convert harness from 4l80e to 4l60e???

Yes the title is correct. I bought a harness on here from someone that told me it was a 4l60e harness. And that it had no connectors missing. Both of those were false.

I tried searching for this info but every result was how to convert 4l60e to 4l80e. However I need 4l80e TO 4l60e.

I just bought a 2007 4l60e last week with 50k and just bought a trans crossmember for a 4l60e for my swap. So now I need to know if this is possible to do or what?

I assume with the correct connector and right pin# on the PCM connectors I could run new wires? Or just add wires to the 4l80e?

The PCM I got is a 99-00 based on the numbers off of it I looked up. And it is red/blue connectors for drive by cable throttle body.

red/blue doesnt always mean DBW TB.

As far as I know if its a 4L60 harness you can buy a new 4L80 pigtail from speartech. I'm not 100% sure but that might be the only difference harness wise between the 4L60 & 4L80. Hopefully someone else will chime in that has more hands on type experience.

All I know is from recent research as I'm lookin to go M6-A4 this winter.

You mean if its a 4l80e harness, buy a 4l60e pigtail? That's what I'm trying to do.

I believe 4l60e has 13wires. While 4l80e has less wires (11 wires) that's what I have. I need to convert this 4l80e connector to 4l60e to use with my 4l60e trans.

Those of you that use 4l60e with your swap did you use the neutral safety switch???

After going through my harness I figured out what connector I was missing.

Missing this connector.

But I ended up getting a 2007 4l60e that has this safety switch.

My Harness is setup for this switch.

Found one thread on here and just one person claimed that you don't even need it for a ls swap. So before I go ahead and buy a new connector and safety switch I wanna make sure.

They function the same, you should just use whichever one your harness is setup for.

I don't see how you could be missing one out of the two connectors, unless the harness was for a manual transmission and the other connector you are confusing with an o2 connector.

Well the connector is missing because someone cut it is what I meant.

I'm going to order the one that's setup for my harness I guess. And remove the 2004+ style one off of the trans.
