Default Help me choose a TC

I'm getting an FLT level 6 4l60e in a couple of weeks and I need to decide on a new TC. The car is basically a weekend only cruiser that I want to have some fun with.aybe one or two track days a year but it'll mostly be street only car. Here my set up as of now:

1 7/8" ARH with catted y pipe and 3" borla
Stock ls1 (cam, heads, intake)
D-1sc (not on the car yet, waiting to the transmission replaced first)
Hopefully around 500whp when installed and tuned.
Street tires that I know will not hold any power

Next year the car will get a forged bottom end and a cam and heads at that time I'd like to be at about 650whp. Also will order a 9" from MWC or moser this winter.

This car will remain a street car but I want to get a properly fitted TC so I can maximize my fun with this car. Any advice or experience y'all have will be much appreciated. If I left anything out let me know I'll try to answer what I can.
Thanks again everyone!!

I have an Edge Racing 3600 in my car (daily driven) and I really like it. However, I'd probably talk to one of the vendors about getting the appropriately matched converter for your application. I know Yank is a sponsor on here, possibly Circle D and Edge.

I hope this helps.

I have an ss3600 and love it. My car isn't boosted but ik this series of converters can be used n/a as well as with power adders. I'd call around to the sponsors and see what they would reccomend for your car.

I also now have the Yank SS3600 and am happy with it. I previously had two TCI units - the 3400 stall was annoying loose and sloppy in town; the 2800 was fine in town but slower at the track.

Give Chris at Circle D Specialties a call (713-895-8834) and he can build you a custom converter to fit your exact application. He has done a lot of custom builds for FI set ups.

Edge 3600 for me, fantastic customer service and fast turn around when I had it reconfigured. Make sure who ever you choose talk to them so they can build it to your needs and driving style, and don't cheap out on a converter.

Most common would probably be a 3600 that works great for daily drivers. Whatever you decide to go with get a good one Yank, FTI, Circle D.

Call Dave @ Yank.. No match for his converters especially with FLT's build. Tell him you're buying FLT and he will set you up with the best converter for the money.

This^. And have yank send the converter to FLT and they will test the two out together on the tranny dyno to make sure they are working properly.
