Default trans temp gauge

does anyone have a diagram of the 4l60E in our ls1s showing where on the transmission i can screw in a trans temp sender? i want to put a gauge right where the TCS switch is and then just put that switch somewhere else where i dont have to see it all the time.

i would mount it in the pan but i have an aftermarket aluminum pan so i cant weld a boss into that.

You can also get a bung and weld it into the pan. The temp readings will be lower in the pan vs. in the pressure port.

Case is NPS threads, senders are NPT. They are actually different.

So do i but from what iv read/been told it can read roughly 10 degrees higher than an aftermarket gauge in the pan.

oh wow. that aeroforce thing is awesome. i think im gonna cancel the order on the autometer for that. $150 for a trans temp gauge or $250 for 50 gauges in 1? its like a no brainer. only thing, is the obd2 cable plug that comes with it low profile or does it stick out and get in the way when your getting in and out of the car like when u have the hptuners plugged in?

I tucked my wire up under the steering column so you cant see it. i also have the gauge mounted in the vent next to the a pillar so theres nothing showing at all. its very useful.

I think I've read if you have a '98 you need the 12V source, all other years you do not. Not sure on that though. I have a '99 and it works fine off of the OBD2 port.
