Need a little 4l65e part number help guys, Thanks in advance!
Working on a 05 vette 65e, ordered standard bonded pistons and found out that it has the sonnax input drum support sleeve kit in it, does any one have the part numbers for the:
-modified over run piston/o-ring
-older style aluminum forward piston
-early style forward return spring/retainer
would it be easier to just buy this kit that comes with the sleeve?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-700R4-4L6...b3c8db&vxp=mtr
Thanks in advance for the help guys!

I have installed the Sonnax input drum reinforcement kit.
You only need the old-style aluminum forward piston.
You should be able to reuse the custom overrun piston.
Not sure where to get a replacement o-ring, or if that really is even needed.
You can take a new-style spring cage and remove the bottom of it; it will then fit the forward piston. But if you already have the Sonnax setup, then you should be able to reuse the spring cage.
Like most "new" things on ebay, that kit is over-priced.
Just go to a local trans shop; mine had a 10 year supply of the aluminum pistons as they are no longer used. Offer then $10 and they will be happy. Or ask them to look through their Transtar catalog for that part.
If you decide

Both my over run and forward pistons were damaged/cracked but the sleeve is fine so i was seeing if i could get the custom over run piston with out having to buy the sleeve again, i guess i'll just have to buck up and spend the cash lol.

Best price for the Sonnax reinforcement kit (without the old-style forward piston) is $43:
http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...-07773301k.htm
See if you local trans shop can/will sell you the forward piston for $10 and you will save $25 over the ebay kit. Just make sure the prongs on the forward piston are not worn or damaged.
Since you cannot use the standard sized seal protectors for assembly with the custom parts, this "free" tool is useful for assembly:
Your local trans shop should have a pile of them as they come with some rebuild kits.

So, are you sure you are talking about the ID of the custom overrun piston, or of a stock overrun piston?
Anyway, it doesn't matter since 89LS1FOXER needs a new custom overrun piston and that is only available in the Sonnax kit.
Here is the description and instructions for this product:

Vince, we are talking about a custom ID diameter for the overrun piston. Sonnax bores it out to fit over their reinforcement ring.

Yes I am talking about the modified over run piston inner seal. I have made modified factory pistons for sleeved input drums well before I designed my own billet piston for this application. Trust me when I say that is the seal to use. HTH Vince

Thank you for the confirmation. Good to know then that these o-rings are readily available. Thank you also for the implied suggestion that a billet aluminum piston is a good idea in this area. I will get one the next time I am rebuilding a reinforced input drum.
