Default hooking up a manual lock up switch

Hi

i´m gona have manual lock up switch in combo

i have a switch board whith switch Volts and ground to it , but while i was measuring the V on the lock up switch i noticed while the car is not running and only key switch on there is a 12V read from the pcm

is that normal ? or is my switch board not working correctly
i was gona see if the switch works but i cant see that because the wire from the lock up switch to TCC wire from the PCM shows Voltage...

thanks

You ground the apply solenoid to engage the TCC. But
you also probably want to energize the TCC pressure
servo (PWM) to ensure there's enough pressure to do
a job. That would be +12V applied.

Me, I'd spend a little extra effort and make something
where the engage button is momentary, set a latch
and the brake light signal resets it. Just so you don't
keep having to remember about that as you coast
down to stop, buck and die.

this is a push on button just like the purge button

so i push it and hold it then it should lock up but when i relese the button it should release the lock up

using this in drag racing

Yes, when it isn't grounded, it is +12V. It's using a pullup resistor, so that it won't float, and the pcm think that it is grounded.

so it´s normal to read V from it when the key switch is on,

Yes, if its not grounded, it WILL see +V.
