Shop to install yank ss 3600
Whats up fellas, I'm lookin to get some work done on my 02 tran am ws6 a4 sometime next month(around this time next month), I'm trying to get a yank ss 3600 stall, transmission cooler installed on my bolt on only car along with a dyno tune, so I want to see in what direction you guys point me in I live in the San Fernando valley(so cal) but I don't mind driving an hour or two away for the work to get done, I want to see how much I'm looking to spend for everything...i don't have the stall yet due to my knowing if the installer can get a better price than myself...

Obviously prices are going to vary depending on each individual shop and location. I'm on the east coast so my numbers could be way off, but if you're looking for a regular old transmission shop to do the work, one of the local big name places here quoted me $400-$500 to install the converter and $150-$250 for the cooler.
I ended up having a friend install the cooler for $25 and then I got my converter as part of a package deal that included the converter, install, and tuning for 1 lump sum of $1,415. The converter itself cost $695 + shipping ($715 total) and then the tuner typically charges $300 for dyno/street tune so that would mean $400 on install.
It really depends on overhead of the shop. Well known places are going to charge more typically. Race Proven Motorsports in DE charges $550 for converter install because they're a big business with a big following (plus DE doesn't have tax, although now that I think of it, that $1,415 I paid must have included tax.

Yea I see what you're saying, I actually already got a quote from one sponsor on here for the convertor and tranny cooler and installation on both and it was a fair price in my eyes....but I'm trying to shop around for the best deal I can get....So what 1/4 mile times are you swing with your mods ls-one-day? I'm on full bolt on's some suspension work and, gears an a diablotune with drag radials and I can't trap anything better than a 12.4

Haha yeah we'll see. I have the factory 16" wheels though so I'm leaning between Toyo Proxes TQ or Nitto 555Rs. I'd get whichever are cheaper. I don't drive it if I know it may rain so I'd probably just keep the DR's on the back whenever I do drive it. I've heard people can get 15k miles out of those 2 sets of tires which would be good because I only put 5-7k a year on the car.

Ls-one yea those 555r's get the job done, I've had them for about 2 years now and Ive had em on my rear wheels the entire 2 years I only drive it about 3-4k miles a year an they hook up really well with my 3.73s...I think traction might be an issue once I install the stall convertor tho even with my 555r's
01z0h6, that's about the same price they go for shipped on cal speed, the upside to cal speed is that I can save the money from shipping and throw it into my girls Rsx and go pick it up myself!
