Default anyone running a ss3600

I never see anything about these on this part of the board. If you are running it would you mind sharing your 60', 1/4, and trap speeds with me. Also your mods and the tires you were on. Thanks.

I know there are at least a few people on the board with one. At least one is a street only car.

Most people with 3.23 gears who are looking for a big 60' improvement and run nittos start with the SS3800.

I've got an SS3800, installing it on Thursday. I'll post up some 1/4 mile improvements by the end of the month hopefully

the ss3800 must be weak then, i need ET's to hook at the tracks here with my ssf 3500 2.5str. Nitto's are just a waste of TIRE on your rear 1/4 panel lol.

i did run a 12.163@112.60 with nitto's spinning the 60ft, too hard to launch.

If you goto the track, get a buddies ET streets, 11.5psi, big burnout, and just stomp (brake idle, flash stall) the SS3600/3800 and you'll be quite pleased.

if you can smoke ET streets, well you got a badddddddd car or can't burnout.

I will no longer run nitto's because well they are my daily tires and don't last very long and whats the fun in going sideways down the 60 when i can just hook at maximum flash wtq.

well i just had one put in monday and last night i hit 500 miles on the new trans. i stopped 1/2 mile from my house and floored it from a stop with 315 nittos. i did not heat them up , and they spun a little. it seemed like the car wanted to veer to the right too. i have yet to install my spohn parts or the torquearm, im waitin on 12 bolt(3.42) back from shop this week. the converter feels great but this is my first one so i cant campare. sorry no times yet. kev

You would think that the SS3800 must be weak just because many people run DRs with it? What kind of 60s are you pulling? I've pulled 1.51s on 275/40/17 Nittos.

Much depends on the track. I've spun 29" FULL slicks to the tune of 1.6 60fts on a slick track and I've pulled low 1.5s all night long with 17" Nittos.

I am hoping for 1.7s, but 1.5-1.6s are even better

I've got a SS3800 but no track times. I had it on a stock engine for about 30 miles before my H/C setup. I think with a good track and a good burnout, the nitto's would probably hold. After my H/C, no way they'll stick. 20 or so miles on the H/C setup I decided to go forged bottom end with a TRex. I wish now I'd have went with a PT4200 since I'll need at least ET streets to hook, but at the time I was going to stop with the mods but I got alittle carried away I think you'd be happier with a 3800 than a 3600. Plus it'll leave alittle more room for other mods later on.

i have the SS3800 with a january 2003 build date and it works just fine. my car went from 13.8 et's to 12.9 et's naturally aspirated.. 13.8 is stock, 12.9 is with 3.73 gears et streets, and the yank ss3800 converter. plus 12.15 with a dry 5177 nitrous kit. 8000 daily miles on this converter so far.

I just checked my odometer. I installed my Yank SS3800 converter at 50006 miles and it now has over 59500 miles. I installed my 3.73 years on the same day as the converter. I got used to the extra rpms in a few days, but the howl from the richmond gears still erks me. ive reset the pinion depth and backlash 3 times but the gear noise is still there.

I pulled a 1.65 60' with my SS3600 and 315 Nitto's before I burned the stock transmission up and went home. When I first had the converter installed with no other changes to what I already had at the time, my ET dropped a little over 5 tenths of a second.
