O.K. Guys i need some serious help.
I just installed a trex cam and a 4400 stall.
The car had been running great. NOw I dont know if my tranny is slipping or what. Sometimes when you punch it, it has not torque or power and wont downshift. My rpms used to fly at about 5 grand now they go very slow even if it does downshift.
I had my car tuned with edit. I was getting a code po121 tps. I think my tuner dleleted the code or something. no ses light.
whats wrong with this thing. Any certain way to tell if a tranny is slipping my car is loud and i cant really tell.
im about to blow the pos up

 

I know this sounds obvious but have you checked the transmission fluid level? Maybe it is low.

yes thats the first thing i checked. It is perfect level. Thanks anyways. THis sucks i dont know if its slipping or not

 

Hey don't mess around everytime we get a tps code we stop what we are doing and check it out have someone check the tps system for a full sweep. This part will control you line pressure, low line and it'll slip. Hope this helps Thanks Dave

 

my friend's 2001 did the same thing with a yank before TM was wiped out of his computer.

so do i have a bad tps i got code 121 and i think my tuner turned the code off, he said that was unusal. But jason from thunder told me that it was normal code for a large cam.
I went to the track last night ran 2 times and ran worst than i did last year. It must be slipping. I wonder if i have damaged my tranny. so the tps could make it slip?

I mean i punch it, it kinda downshifts then wont pull and you can sorta feel slipping in the pedal or something. Kinda hardto explain all i know is it is running like complete crap

 

just put a new tps on and problem is still there Im pretty sure that the tuner deleted the code im going to check tonight. IM out of ideas.
i might delete tq managment tonight. Do you guys think it could be where he set my shifts? I dont think it would be the shifts cause it done it once on stock tuning from a dead stop. Any help is greatly appreciatied. thanks

 

check the plug on the tranny if it came off it will do this too--"big grey one

 

i havent checked the plug, but i doubt thats it because it doesnt do it everytime. Do you still think that might be it

 

what is a code 121

 

keep me up to date these are similar symptoms to my problem...large cam, had a tps code before hand now it shifts to 3rd or 4th or stays in one of those gears even when i go wot...dunno what the problem is but its very familar.
