Default 4L60E behind a LT1 without computer

Can you put a 4L60E behind a LT1 without the computer controling it?

I have a 88 RX7 with a Turbo LT1 and I'm wanting to do away with the 6 speed and go automatic. I know I can do a glide/350/400 but I'm really wanting OverDrive.

Is there any way to achive this? Is there a box I can buy to control the transmission?

i think the "E" stands for "ELECTRONIC" so it might be a no go

Hey:

A 1993 4L60 with no E or 700R, the 4L60 is pretty much the last version of the 700R before it went electronic in 1994. Hope this helps

They make several tranny control boxs but they aren't cheap. Find you a 700r4.

To use a 4l60e you will either need some sort of controller or will need to go full manual such as the transgo 3 kit

after much research I think going full manual is the only option other than the high dollar controller

Let me know what you end up doing. Trying to decide as well. I want to stick with the 4L60E I bought with my 5.3, but the cost to build one to hold up to some power may be the deal breaker.
