Converter/Cooler labor cost.

Converter/Cooler labor cost.
What is the average labor for a shop to install a Converter and tranny cooler, and tune. Also, when a shop quotes a price for tune, is it just for the converter, or do most of them charge a full tune price, and just do a completely new tune? What I mean by complete is, A/F ratio etc. I ask this because my car is already tuned for mods in sig. Ty for the info ya'll!

$500 is not really that out of line. I quick looked up converter and fluids and we would be at about $400 probably a little less but not much if any. When we do any add on stuff like a cooler or tuning we charge strictly time and materials. I would assume a hour on cooler install (guessing high I think) and probably at least an hour for tuning assuming everything is already handled in setting it up and tuning licence etc. I charge $70 per hour. do the math..

No that doesnt include a converter (see original post asking for labor cost) and yes it includes fluids.

FWIW I chose Complete Street Performance in West Chester, PA because they had a package deal on a custom billet FTI converter, the install, and a full tune. The price was $1350. The converter by itself was $700, Andrew's full tunes run $300 (for the first one, subsequent tune $150), so that left $350 for install including fluids.
That package was actually supposed to be for GTO's though as I guess the transmission is easier to work with on those, so I paid him for an extra .5-1 hour labor.
Cooler I had a buddy with a lift do for $25 although I think one of the lines is seeping fluid.

I've never heard of a F body specific 4l60e stock converter failing? Revmax sounds like a great converter, I've heard about a lot of fast cars using those... My price is for your standard Yank, FTI, Coan, Circle D, ect known performing converter that will net you results instead of dissapointment. You sound like you have it all figured out though

My converter....cooler...250$ for some tranny upgrades/ partial re-build cost 650$. Not to bad considering completely removing, disassembling, and installing the new tranny components.
