FWIW, tinkering with the transmission after you've received it, especially taking things apart to figure out how things work instantly voids the warranty. There are several internal modifications that we make as well that you wouldn't be able to see unless you took the trans apart
I am not forum shy..lol, The low gear brake works like they said, place in manual low and push button, stall up and release. When you are running it off the factory ecm you will have to delete a few codes, and also turn off the manual 1-2 upshift, or set it to an rpm range that you will never see. The D3 brake allows you to use it in forward gears, you do have to push button for reverse or wire it to the reverse lights. This brake works off power not ground. They are both quick releasing.

All in all anything from Jake's Kicks ***, but I might be biased...lol

Did you get yours yet? How long is the lead time on one of these?

Currently about an 8 week backlog on builds.

I'm trying to streamline a few things like VB machining and assembly to speed us up.

We typically try to build transmissions in the order they were purchased to keep it fair.

Some specialty parts take time to get in and in some cases the parts we make in house are done in batches so we get held up.

Right now all Stage 5 builds are waiting on drums that should be done this week. A few of these I bought drums from a competitor to get them out the door this week.

Each unit is custom built and some cases we have to do custom machining to make it work. As an example we have a Stage 5 4L80E in process right now with a 2.10 gearset. This requires the reluctor/rear planet to be custom machined because the aftermarket 2.10 gearset is setup for a TH400 not a 4L80E. A small deal and normally I would just setup on a lathe and do it, however the 2.10 carrier is machined in such a way I would have to make a taper cut. The reluctor is too thin for me to machine, so I subbed the job to a CNC shop to be sure we don't damage a $1700 gearset. Lots of time involved in this one little hurdle.

I have no complaint with the long backlog or the wait, my only small issue is I was told over the phone when I first ordered that a level 2 was only a two week lead, and I was billed full cost right up front.

Tis the way with a small business, I know, I work for one, but, would have rather been told up front its gonna be a long lead vs what I was told.

I am sure the trans will perform flawlessly, and get here at somepoint.

Who told you a two week wait? We were at a 4-5 week backlog at that time so I can't imagine anyone claiming 2 weeks.

We also typically do a 50% deposit, I prefer to do it that way but sometimes customers want to pay all up front.

So, got my trans today, but, how do I wire up the trans brake? I am assuming it connects via main data bus?

Pinouts?
