00 LS1 with 350 tranny help!!
I recently bought a 00 z28 ls1 with a 350 turbo tranny. Everythings pretty soild whoever did it, did it right. My problem is it tachs bout 3k at 65mph. I want sumthin that i can drive a hour away without it reving that high. It has a 323 gear in the rear the guy said. I was wondering if i should put a 700r4 tranny in it or what are my options?

Depending on your power levels or future goals there are alot of options. If you are running a tv cable set up and want to keep it you can run a 700 or a 2004r, or you can go back to factory 4l60e or a 4l80e.
It really depends on budget, set up and of course personal preference...
What are the details on your combo or what is your end result? Are you staying stock? Etc...

It was a 6spd from factory, but has been fully converted to auto. its got a few motor mods all bolt ons. Im looking for a quarter mile setup, something i could cruise around in and take to the 1/4 mile drag if i wanted to. what i know is its a LS1 motor, 350 turbo 3spd, and a 323 gear in the rear. far as budget im looking for the easiest and quickest change. thanks for the advice

the 700 should work fine, and it would give you overdrive. The 200 would work as well and would be a bit lighter than the 700 cuz its a smaller transmission. Might as well get it built up a little with clutches, shift kit, and shafts while youre at it if you are going to be racing it hard.

Stick with a 700-r4 or a 200-4r (both are 4spd, the 700-r4 is essentially the non-electronic controlled version of the 4L60e), coming from the th350 it's the easiest/cheapest swap for you at this point....
