Here is a thread describing the problems I had with my stock torque converter:

Since then, my stock converter has just been sitting in my garage. I want to get rid of it, but before throwing it in a dumpster I wanted to find out if its worth any money? Would a trans shop be interested in it as core? Maybe a person? Anyone got an estimate what it might be "worth"?

I would guess $25-$50 as a core.... But since it is questionable might be scrap.

You might get a few bucks for it, but then again you might not because of the conditions of it.
