I just had my transmission rebuilt by a reputable shop, installed it myself now the car will not move in any gear. what could this be?

if the converter isnot seated correctly you will break the pump on start up

An incorrectly installed converter is the likely problem, and it true, it likely also broke the pump rotor.

Do you remember if there was a gap between the converter and the flexplate?
When there is, you can turn the converter very easily before the first bolt is installed.
