Opinions on TCI
Well i found a used TCI 3600 super street fighter converter for sale, that is a good price. But i dont know anything about TCI, is this something i should stay away from? Do they make good converters?
What are peoples opinions on TCI?
Thanks guys!

I had the TCI 3600 Super Street fighter. Since I like to experiment, I later bought a new Yank 3600. The Yank was definitely tighter on the street. I had both at the track, but couldn't tell the difference and had different engine setups.

If it has a billet front cover, it'll have a strong clutch and you're good to go. If the cover is stamped, you have a weak clutch and you need to be careful. If that thing shreds and gets pumped into your tranny, you've got a major problem. Check the stickies for torque converter education, and you'll learn all you need.
All that being said, I ran a TCI 3000 for three years and 24k and lots of track passes with zero problems. That was courtesy of a Transgo HD-2 shift kit.

After seeing the difference between my Circle D converter and my standard Hughes, I can comfortably say that any other car I choose to own will not have a cheaper converter in it. You definitely get what you pay for with most things, but this is especially true with converters IMO.

The TCI Streetfighter series has a pretty small and
weak converter clutch. They are decently efficient
(the SF3000, very; the SF3500, not bad; SF3800 is
pretty inefficient) according to various scan logs I
have seen.
You can get good cheap track performance out of
them, but daily driver durability I can't recommend.
And for damn sure don't throw any Type F fluid at
one.
