Default 86 gmc 700r4 questions

I have a 86 gmc sierra 4x4 and I'm planning on doing an LS swap. Would a 4L60e transmission with transfer case bolt up to my existing 4 wheel drive set up or would I have to change everything or would a 4L60e transmission bolt up to my transfer case? Sorry I'm new at this kind of thing.

And will my shifter have to be modified or will it hook up to a 4l60e ....it's automatic.

Your auto shift linkage should hook up fine the only difference I've encountered was the length of the shaft coming out of the trans there's a long and a short fairly easy to swap one for the other.The 4l60e is the electronic version of the 700-r4 I've put 4l60e's where 700's once lived and vice versa. As for your transfer case I honestly don't know if it will bolt up or not.I have never done a 4x4. I'm interested to know let me know what you learn.

ls1truck site has good info on this swap. I used the 700r4 with an adapter that bolts on the crank. It was about 50 bucks from gm with the bolts.
