Default 86 gmc 700r4 questions

I have a 86 gmc sierra 4x4 and I'm planning on doing an LS swap. Would a 4L60e transmission with transfer case bolt up to my existing 4 wheel drive set up or would I have to change everything or would a 4L60e transmission bolt up to my transfer case? Sorry I'm new at this kind of thing.

Your auto shift linkage should hook up fine the only difference I've encountered was the length of the shaft coming out of the trans there's a long and a short fairly easy to swap one for the other. The 4l60e is the electronic version of the 700-r4 I've put 4l60e's where 700's once lived and vice versa. As for your transfer case I honestly don't know if it will bolt up or not.I have never done a 4x4. I'm interested to know let me know what you learn.

ls1truck site has good info on this swap. I used the 700r4 with an adapter that bolts on the crank. It was about 50 bucks from gm with the bolts.
