Finished installing 3500 stall w/ 2.5 str today. Seems like it's gonna be awesome. Taking it a little easy for a while to make sure everything is ok. I've heard 300 mile break in, this sound right? One other question now that I think of it. I have my shift firmness at 100% w/ HPP3. Been like that for basically the life of the car, this still ok with a converter? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be. Just thought I'd ask.

from what i kno increasing line pressure could possibly be killing your trans. but if you dont feel it slipping, or overheating then rock on! I know i wouldn't set it to 100% if it were me tho

Agreed.
i run 50% on mine purely for my own comfort (i hate it when its so sloppy you can't even feel it)...100% is a little much though, DEFINITELY knock it down some or you'll be jacking up the line pressure a tad high.

Sounds like something I might look in to. I'm a bit new to this whole converter mod, but I've been doing some research and I'll probably go with something similar to your setup. Why is shift firmness so important when increasing stall size? Does the stock tranny feel sloppy, loose, like it's slipping with an aftermarket converter and stock shift firmness? Sorry about all the questions, but few enthusiasts around my area have invested in stall converters, so I haven't really been able to experience what one feels like first hand.
