Talking Shift kit on LS1: Superior VS transgo HD-2 VS transgo SK VS B&M 70360

Looking to install a shift kit on a 4L60E w/123k mildly driven miles. The options are: transgo SK 4L60E, transgo 4L60E HD-2, B&M shift improver 70360, or Superior 4L60E shift correction kit. Any other recommendations on kits? This is a daily driver car so im looking for mild shift/performance improvements and I'm also looking to try to extend the life of the tranny. I will also be installing a tranny cooler and a truck pan for more fluid capacity. I also plan on having a mail order for a tune for Bolt On Mods by FROST TUNING. Does have the tuning contradict the shift kit install? On a scale of 1-10 how hard r the kits to install for a DIY person? Will fuel consumption increase with normal driving conditions? Thanks in advance for your replies!!

The Transgo HD2 kit is highly recommend and used extensively by members. It includes a boost valve and optional high rpm parts for if/when you ever rebuild the internals.

The Superior Shift correction kit is too basic; it does not include a boost valve which is the first part I would recommend. A better choice would be this one from Superior which has a boost valve:

Do NOT use the B&M kit as it will ruin your trans. It is only for kids with low power engines that want to chirp their tires. It disables the accumulators, a big NO NO.

Also consider the Sonnax Performance Pack. It is a bit more expensive but includes pinless pistons and other nice parts. I personally use the HD2 kit with select Sonnax parts; I have also tried the Performance Pack, but like the HD2 1-2 accumulator setup better.

Perhaps the most complete kit is one from Fairbanks. It includes billet servos, boost valve and more:

It is an EXCELLENT kit; I just like a firmer 1-2 shift than it can provide.
