Has anyone put a 6L80E in a 4th Gen?

I know a guy from another forum (62Naldie) Which most likely he is on the Performance Trucks forum as well and he was pushing his stock 6l80e up to 700+RWHP on his boosted crew cab Denali. He has been having that transmission for some long time now and hasnt gave him a single issue. It is claimed that a major issue that the 6L80s is having is that a drum would crack and it would loose pressure.

Here are several related threads in which I participated:

(Poorhousenext documents the gear ratios and the % difference. Well done!)

The real question is why?
If I were offered one for free, I would pass. (Ok, take it and then sell it.)
For one thing, it is even larger and heavier than a 4L80E (which barely fits).
The computer problems sound complex; it has one computer built into the case, but that expects to communicate to a BCM (body control module) over the modern CAN (Car Area Network) bus, which no 4th gen has.
While it has been documented (see above) that the huge 1-2 shift ratio is actually less than a 4L60E, the 4.06 1st gear only makes sense if you have a 2.73 rear, and 6th gear .667 ratio would put you at such low revs that only a stock cam would be happy. All IMHO of course.
A 4L80E swap would be much simpler and I have never read of anyone regretting that choice.
