Default 4l80e in a 69 f body, fitment issues possibly?

Hey guys happy Sunday! I am really excited because the parts needed for my ls conversion is getting shorter and shorter, I do however have and possible issue that was brought to my attention yesterday. I picked up some parts from a member yesterday. Qnitro your cars were very remarkable! However when I told him of my plans to use a 4l80e he told me that this would be a difficult install without altering my transmission tunnel. Is this true for all 4l80e transmissions or only certain years? I really would like to use one but only would be willing to alter my floor to go 6 speed. Thanks guys I appreciate any and all information.

I suggest searching "4l80E" in the nastyz28.com forum. IIRC, it does require some minor mods. (There is a also a 1st Gen forum, but I am not familiar with it.)
Older 4l80E (pre '98??) have the oil cooler lines in the front which is generally easier to deal with in a swapped car.
Also, if you use Zero-offset engine mount adapters, instead of 1"-Back adapters, you will more clearance and the tunnel mod might be very minor (just pounding, no cutting).
I have an '81 with an LS2 and 4L60E - plenty of space for that combo.

I will post an inquiry in the original camaro site. Thanks for the advice, its looking like I may have to use the older model and do some small mods. I can deal with hammering and pounding I just would prefer not to cut anything at all.

4L80E fits fairly well in a 1st Gen F Body. Very little if any flooran mods, no cutting required.

I'm glad Jake answered your Q here. He has 8000+ posts in nastyz28 and is definitely the go-to-man for anything 4L80E related.
