Thumbs up transgo spacers

Im reading differing opinions, and Im trying to find out which way to go. I have my transmission down, Im installing a TCI SSF3500 and a B&M trans cooler. I also have a transgo kit, and according to the paperwork that comes with it, I should put in all 3 spacers that are provided. However, from what Im reading from guys on here, they claim those spacers are just for worn transmissions? I dont buy that, I would think it would help prevent slippage, which adds tranny life via less friction, and lower temp. Im not affraid of a neck snapping shifts, but at the same time, Im not interested in premature wear of my trans. What say others?? in regards to the spacers..

Thanks

The accumulator spacers decrease the travel/provide more spring pressure for the 1-2 accum. piston to works against.Less travell = less accumulation, results are firmer 1-2 shifts.Does'nt matter what the trans condition is.Of course you'll get less results out of a worn transmission. If you do'nt mind snapping shifts at part throttle,go ahead and put in three.I like two.

If you want "smooth" part throttle 1-2 shifts, and not "bang" shifts, add one spacer or none, you still will have firm WOT shifts. When you get ready to install this kit (I am assuming you have one), there are hole size modifications in the separator plate that can be done to greatly increase the longevity of this unit. I am also assuming that you have disabled the torque management setup. Call me at 800 7763288 9-6 PST.

The car is a 1999, I have no torque management, and yes, there are several holes that I will be drilling in the seperator plate to increase flow. Thanks.

The hole sizes I am referring to are "different" than what the Trans-Go instructions give you, they are to give you maximum performance & longevity. When you get ready to do this, let me know, and I can give you the hole sizes needed for your particular application.

Cool seperator plate

Hey man, about the seperator plate we were talking about on the phone, I called transgo, and ya, they mentiones some generic plate, part number

46-PLT-96 its a 1996-2003 plate, and then told me to get the gaskets for the 2002-2003 cars, cause they work better with a generic plate. They said to call trans-king or something like that, about getting one. Im still not done yet locally however, Im going to try some things tomorrow sometime. Id much prefer have it immediately, considering that the tranny is apart now, and the car is in the air. Catcha later

I have a 3 washer setup, along with a billet super servo, and the shifts are not that bad at all.

I'm not sure if your comment meant that you removed torque management with Edit or that 1999's don't have TM. 1999's do have TM but it was not as severe as the 2001 models.

What I meant was, I removed the torque management and yes in 99's it wasnt usually an issue
