Default Slightly dirty trans fluid on new transmission???

Hey guys,

Decided to check trans fluid level again since having my new FLT stage 5 4l65e installed and noticed it's slightly dirty on a white paper towel.

Is this a normal thing or is something wrong? Everything in the system is new.

FLT Stage 5 4l65e
New lines
New cooler
New FTI 9.5" Billet triple disc 3200 stall

Theres only 160 miles on the car since everything was installed by an LSx shop. The miles on it have been easy, no dyno or track visits. Did get on it 35-85mph just a couple times. (2-3 at most).

Not abnormal. All the friction material in the trans/converter has to break-in.

Thats what I was hoping to hear. When should I change the fluid? I was thinking 10k miles but now seeing some friction material maybe 1k miles?

160 miles should have provided many shifts/engagements/dis-engagements for a break-in. If it was me,and if you got the time and money, soon with FILTER and fluid. Wouldn't want particles blocking up the filter and starving the pump.

Sounds reasonable to me; I would confirm that with FLT and use the same type fluid they did.
