Default PTC or Yank?

Ok I have been doing some research and I know both companies make great converters.

I'm still building my 383 LT1 stroker for my 96 Impala, and I want to go with a 3200-3600 stall.

After researching between the two, how do they compare in driveability? I know that the Yank is pretty tight but how does PTC converters compare? I don't plan on hitting the track often so keep in mind this will be a street car.

If someone has personal expierence with both converters please share your expierence!

I run a yank ss3600 and for a streetcar that wont see the track its a good converter. People will have their opinion on both and this thread might turn into a yank vs ptc shitstorm.

True, but I know they are both good converters so I want someone who has actually drove both of them and compare the drive-ability of them, that's all!

The Yank SS3600 is the perfect street/strip compromise.

Runs great at the track, picked up MPH over stock, and is tight enough to daily drive with no issues.

I'd go with the yank 3600. They have a tighter feel on the street during normal driving. I've driven a few but none in a heavier b/body car

Buddy has a PTC 3600 and I'd say it drives exactly like it should. Not too tight, and not too loose.

PTC can build a billet cover setup as well.

Billet isn't always necessary. It's a nice upgrade in any case but if you see the inside of MANY converters you learn interesting practices occur. There is more to a converter than a fancy cover.

Update,

I ended up grabbing a lightly used FTI converter for less than a new PTC or used Yank.
I will give my review on it once I have everything set-up.

Yep, it is a SRL 3800 hit hard stall! (I believe the hard hit serious just means it flashes higher).
The guy I brought it from previously had a Yank and a PTC stall as well. He said the FTI was his favorite but the Yank was the tightest.

For the price I got it, I think I got an awesome deal.

FTI is what I used on my 60e and I loved it! About to get one for my 80e SOON!
