Diesel converter behind a gas motor
Hello all. I recently put a fully built 383 ls1 behind my jeep m715 with a4l80e that was behind a 6.5 diesel. I got it running today. Took it for a drive it but when I nail it. It doesn't go to the rpm as it should. In other words it's a dog. Could it be the converter? Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

yes, stall is way to low I would think, we lower stalls to trans more torque in the rpms diesel operate most, below 2500rpm so a 1500rpm stall is about right with around 600ft/lbs.. not gas range..

sounds like you have a tuning issue, a tight converter will make it not want to idle easily like making the car move forward or want to kill the motor. Then when you get rolling would be like almost having a manual but would still rev out before you have to shift..

just because it will free rev doesn't mean the tune is right.. if it was to lean or to rich it wouldn't want to "pull".
a stall will only affect how you go from basically 0mph to once your rolling. It will bog or lag if its low unless that's what the motor combo likes.
