Default Trans temp gauge suggestions

I'm looking into getting a gauge for camaro but don't know much about them. My interior is stock so I just want a reliable one and if it looks great than it'll be a plus. Feel free to post pics if you have any. Thanks

I went digital for my trans and engine temps. I find needles to be pretty crude and I am a visual learner so the actual number staring me in my face is easier for me to remember when learning temperature patterns. I went with a Cyberdyne unit, I'm pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty, and are about $50 from Summit. Got a generic two gauge A-pillar pod off ebay for $30ish.

I got an Aeroforce Interceptor. It's like $230 + $20 for a pod...but not only does it do trans temp but like 80 other things too. Can't beat the value.

depends on how much you want to spend and exactly how quick/responsive you want the gauge...

The Torque Pro android app and an ELM OBDII adapter works fairly well on the cheap, and you can program in custom PID's to monitor just about EVERYTHING.

Sounds like these gauges do more then just give you the temp of the tranny? I'm not really looking to spend over $100 and not looking to put pillar gauges on the car. Can't you just put a gauge by the shifter in the center console? What's needed to do something like that?

If I didn't have an aeroforce scan gauge that I read my temps with I would go with a digital gauge like 01ss has and get a bung welded into the pan. The scan gauge reads temps from the stock temp sensor which is in the valve body I believe, and reads about 10 degrees higher than a sensor in the pan.

Interesting to know, I always wondered if my reading from the aeroforce were high or low compared to actual temps.

I use the cheaper alternative to the interceptor which is a Scan gauge 2...it allows digital displays of 4 gauges at once including trans temp as well as being able to be used as a scanner and performance meter...I'm really happy with it...and it's reading the trans temp off the PCM which no matter what location it is, it is relative to giving an idea where the trans temps are...scan gauge 2 is also more accurate than the factory gauges for things like coolant temp as well
