Default 4L80 conversion questions

i'm doing a 4L80 conversion and i'm curious if anyone has a pic of the part of the trans that needs to be trimmed to fit my car with headers. Just looking for pics so when the trans gets built and ready to be put in i'd like to know what to trim off. Also how do i tell which slip yolk i need? I've got the converter lined up, trans lined up, PCMforLess harness and BMR crossmember for the conversion.

No info or pics of the trimming? I found out the differences in output shafts but no description of exactly what yolk goes to which shaft.

You can see right above the first bell housing bolt how the ear is shaved down flush with the housing..

Also what does your trans outputs shaft look like?

awesome thank you so much. That's exactly what i wanted for a pic. I appreciate that. As for the output shaft i haven't picked the trans up yet(gotta wait a week or so) since i got stuck going to work in Atlanta before i got it. It's out of an '08 Express Van if that narrows it down

Dont forget to trim the tunnel for wiring connector clearance.

I would test fit the tunnel. I ended up beating the car up a little more than needed. The trans brace where the transmission connector goes needs a couple inches at least. I would say about 2-3'' trimmed out.

BMR. I have a trans temp gauge ordered, crossember from BMR, PCMforLess harness, circle d converter, 6an 90° fittings for trans cooler all ordered. Also have the 4L80 out of an '08 Van thats going to get a rebuild. Gotta order torque converter bolts from ARP and I'm gonna see if my existing aftermarket trans cooler will work for the 4L80. Its a nice one with braided stainless lines and all

Speartech harness works just as well as the PCMForLess harness and is a fair bit cheaper.

What kind of rebuild are you going with for the 4l80e. I am thinking of also doing the swap, since my 60e went down last week. Do most people rebuild it back to stock or upgraded?

I had mine built when I did mine. It's really not that expensive to upgrade the tranny. Didn't want to break it after doing all of the work with the swap. I used the BMR crossmember and the speartech harness and circle D t/c. The trans tunnel where the plug is I used an air hammer to do mine. It's a good 3" for clearance but cutting the trans ears and the clearance for the plug were the only fitment issues I had.

Well I didn't build it. Dobbins Racing Transmissions did it so I might leave something out because I'm going off memory. I know it got new clutches, bands, bearings, drums, an upgraded intermediate shaft, new front pump, shift solenoids and a new wiring harness.
