99 6.0 & 4l60e Trans - Looks like it will work, No?

I have a 99 6.0 engine and a 4L60E trans that has the bolt at 12 o clock - The 4L80E trans that was behind the engine also had the 12 o clock bolt. I measured the OD of the converter snout and the ID of the crank and they are the same, The converter looks to fit the hole in the crank fine. I left the flexplate on that came with the engine and bolted the trans up - I looked at the TC to flywheel bolt and it looks like if I slot the flywheel a little it will bolt up. As it sits the TC is about .080" - .100" away from the flywheel.
Not sure what the trans came out of but I posted a pic of the tag on it.
Any input is appreceiated.

Your trans is a 2001 silverado or seirra Ext. cab 4x2, for 5.3L.. 6.0 w/4l80 flywheels are different.. you will need to get one for a 4.8/5.3. pretty sure there thread on here bout 4L60 to 6L

You have the "flat" 4l80e flexplate. You need a "dished" ls flexplate. That converter requires the ls style flexplate. The 99 and 2000 6.0 motors have the infamous long crank flange. You will need to run a custom converter. If you remove the flexplate I can verify the type of crank you have

I had another thread with pictures. https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-l...-did-pics.html
The main problem was that the TC would not go into the crank far enough to bolt to the flywheel.
