Default 4L80E help, transgo HD-3 kit

Hi..

Just opened my 4L80E that seems to have a transgo HD-3 kit installed.

Removed the pressure switch and the "transgo plate" and then I noticed a checkball in my pan? anyone knows where it should go? or have instructions for the hd-3 kit in pdf format?

I wasnt expecting any checkballs until I removed the valvebody

/N.

Send me a picture of the VB before you remove it. It may not be a TransGo kit.

Hi..

It says TransGo on the "plate"

here you can se the checkball, made of plastic a bit smaller than the steel ones.

It could also come from Line pressure regulator since I have a vacuum modulator and removed it.

Second question..

I'm about to install TCC valve and with the kit came 2 springs, one softer for firmer TCC engagement but then I should peeing the current hole and drill a 0.025" hole instead, is this necesarry dont have a 0.025" drill... Or should I just reuse the stock spring?

That is a -3 kit. You would have to replace the VB to go back to auto. The Vitter pins reduce the hole size to control flow.

To what valves does the vitter pins reduce flow? any chance the TCC?

Anyhow, the trans works like a automatic

So any idea where the mystic checkball came from? something to do with its working like a automatic.....

That is specific to my transbrake and not part of the TransGo kit. You have a TransGo kit, not my transbrake.

well went to the garage and the plastic ball didnt fit anyway

Cant find any hole it would fit in so best guess right now is that it has been placed inside by mistake

are you saying it did shift automatically?
then it might be an HD-2 kit-they used to not give a plate in the early kits, then started supplying a plate (I had an old kit, they swapped it for a new one with a plate, great service)
I have a VB and plate from when I did an HD-3, later swapped it out for an HD-2
I still have the insts. somewhere

yes, it shifts automatic. If you can find the instr that would be great.

My only question now is where the damn checkball should be

ice storm knocked out my power for a couple days
if you have an automatic shift, you don't have an HD-3, but maybe an HD-2

Update... I put it together without the plastic checkball since no one could say where it should be.......

No 1'st or 4'th gear.....

So the plastic ball had some kind of function

again any guess where it should be are welcome!
Removed the pressure switch and the "transgo plate" then I found it so is must come from that area.......

correction

I dont have first or 4'th gear!

Dont know if it has something to do with the checkball or something else is wrong.

Solenoid "A" works and is sealing good. All valves can move in the VB.

And even if the Solenoid "A" closes the oil can go out through a drilled hole in the VB and through the "transgo tripple plate" and away
but thats maybe extre feed hole?

AFL problems maybe?

out of Ideas.....
