4l60e moving forward in all shifter positiona Just replaced torque converter after old converter wouldn't lock up. While I had the tyranny out I replaced the separator plate and gaskets. I used vaseline to hold the check ***** in place while placing the valve body on the case. I got everything put back together and I jacked the rear tires off the ground a little and cranked the car. The wheels move forward in all gears, even park. The shifter isn't locking into gears properly either. What's going on? Do I need to adjust my shifter? Have a check ball out of place? Need to let the vaseline melt out? Please and thank you for the help!

If the wheels do not lock in Park, you have a shift linkage problem. Fix that and hopefully that will take care of the rest.
Note that with the wheels off the ground, they will move forward in Neutral (but off course not Park); it won't have much force but just enough to turn the wheels when they are off the ground.
Nothing to do with your problem, but hopefully your remembered the one check ball above the separator plate near the 3-4 accumulator.

Not the best picture, but it shows the rod from the internal shift mechanism (top right) to the park engagement mechanism (bottom right) which will engage park even with the entire valve body removed.
In any case, I'm sure we agree that the OP needs to first check his shifter cable and then the internal linkage rod.
