That is a 298mm input shaft trans, also called an LT trans. It will not bolt up directly to an LS engine. As Brian mentioned, it only supports an LT converter and will need a spacer on the flexplate to support the pilot.

Ok, thanks for confirming. I am returning the tranny and torque converter for the LS based 4l60e, get it Tuesday. The guy I got the tranny from is just swapping it out so I shouldn't need a new flex plate if I have the LS tranny, no?

A 300mm (LS) tranny with LS converter will bolt right up to your LS engine.

When installing the converter onto the tran:
The IMPORTANT thing is that the TC's mounting pads need to be between 1" and 1-1/4" (ideally 1-1/8") from the edge of the bell housing. MEASURE (!) it with a straight edge over the bell housing and a ruler to the mounting pads. Anything under 1" indicates the pump is NOT yet engaged.

You already know to also measure the pad to flexplate distance after installing the trans. It should be 1/16" to 3/16", ideally 1/8".

Good luck.

That's what I figured.

Now my only concern is I already had my driveshaft shortened, hopefully there is not a huge difference in total length of the LT vs LS 4l60e tranny.

Thanks Brian. Had I needed a new flex plate I would have looked into your plate, thanks again.

Here is the new input shaft, looks better.

Where can I buy your flexplate?
Im having thr same issue installing a 300mm 4l60e into a 5.7L LT that had the 298mm 4l60e.
