4l60e shifts manually, but not automatically

Default 4l60e shifts manually, but not automatically

Alright, so my stock trans died like a month ago. I picked up a used but rebuilt to 4l60e to stick in. We put it in, and when put in drive it won't engage; it's basically like it's in neutral. However if you manually put it in 1st it works fine and you can manual shift up through all the gears and they all work. So I'm guessing something electrical?

sounds like you got a tranny with a broken sprag or incorrectly installed(rebuilt) sprag.

Correct, those are the exact symptoms of a broken or upside-down-installed sprag.
