Default Question on torque converter unlocking

Car is mostly stock with a cam, headers, ect. Running an edge convertor stalled at 3600. Going down the interstate, if cruise is set running 70ish or below it does fine. Running over 70 the convertor will lock up for maybey 1/2-1 mile, Then will unlock for 1/2-2 miles, then lock back up and so on. It has done this before but just every so often unlock. We tuned on the car a few weeks ago and it has gotten to this. Any ideas? Ive got a gynesis scan tool but cant really pin point anything that would cause it. Temp does not change when it unlocks but it does shop some slippage(>5) at 75 or so.
any Ideas? I appreciate it.
BTW is is an 02 Z 4 L60E

You have to tune your car. I ran into the same problem.

Sounds like some trans tuning adjustments need to be made. A good reference is to check out JimmyBlues trans tune info. Definitely got me very close to where it should be. Still have some WOT shift I have to figure out but much better that the stock tune with a converter.

Check for misfires. That will cause the converter to unlock, even if they are false.

Bingo!!! De sensetize the misfire detectors with HP tuners or similar tuning software should do it.

Old post I know but I just fixed this yesterday. Went and changed the table in the misfire section. It had 2 idle a mid and high table. i changed the mid table. Drove it around 100 miles to and from the track and the converter never unlocked once. Thanks for the input

Thank you for updating your thread with the solution.
Reducing the sensitivity of the misfire tables is a normal parting of " tuning" for a stall".
