i will say that 3.42's are about perfect for a dd. you wont feel much difference with those vs 3.73's but it will help keep the rpms down some. you will be right around 2450 @ 80 in OD. Also I wouldnt be looking for any crazy dyno #'s with a stall. if they dyno it unlocked you may actually lose a couple ponies because the new stall will be less efficient. if its locked then it shouldnt change. either way the car will be faster despite what the dyno says.
shift extension is inherent to the stall there no changing that. being that you have an ls6 setup as far as heads and cam go you should be shifting around 65-6600 make sure the tuner knows that. anything under that is vastly limiting performance
I agree on 3.42s. Some people don't mind them with a stall, but I hated the 2.73's even with the stock converter.
