How is your 4l60e doing with mods similar to my planned ones?
I am planning on the doing some more mods on my 2002 TA. Currently have lid, k and n, cutout, catback ,tune but going to GT2-3 cam, some PRC 2.5 heads, fast 92 and 92 tb, some Kooks headers. Shooting for around 500 engine hp.
Will be mostly street but might go to track would think maybe 4 or 5 times a year tops and at track would be running likely my et street radials .
Wondering how many of you heads/ cam .. 500 engine hp or so guys are still running the stock trans and how long it has lasted and if you are doing some drag racing with it. Was planning to run a 3200 Vig stall with transgo stage 2 shift kit and trans cooler.
I went to a fully built 4l80e in my 99 twin turbo but for that car was looking for trans that would handle 1000 plus engine hp.
I could of course swap in a 4l80e in my 2002 but figure if can get by for maybe few years on the 4l60 then maybe try to do so and get a built up 4l60 down the road if start to have problems.
I don't ever plan to go past the mods above on the 2002. No super ,turbos or spray.

I wouldn't worry about it with those mods. I had extremely similar build and the only reason mine let go is because the converter shattered. Had a mild build on the car and it took hell for about 2k miles, weekend car and just 1 track visit. I'd say you will be happy with how long it lasts.

I have been drag racing my stock 4l60e and Yank 4000SS in a mid 11 second car cutting 1.50 60 foot times and I have at least 275 passes on it. It might go tomorrow but it has served me well. Has never shown any signs of acting up. My wife's car has a stock 4l60e and same converter but runs 12.20 with 60 foot times in the 1.62 range and has at least 150 passes on that trans. So 4l60e have been good to me so far.
