I have a close ratio front planetary from another vendor. While happy with it, I saw no improvement at the track. Not surprisingly, in that thread (post #35) PBA predicts an ET improvement of only .05 seconds. However, I like the gear ratios for every day driving.

I don't think the other vendor is making them anymore. They sold for around $1400. The Sonnax one is less than half that. I see that FLT is now making the Sonnax one an option on the higher levels for $600; the original one used to be an option for $1300.

2.84 is a huge improvement over the stock 3.06 ratio. It may not reflect a huge ET difference but it's a much better performance oriented ratio.
The ratios are one reason I've never messed with the 4L60s.
In certain applications I can see the closer ratios improving ET by a noticeable amount.
