I was laid off 3 weeks ago and as many of you know, I am the caretaker of my sick mom so things are more that tight, right now. And as many of you know, my Bird has been down, because of what we thought was a locked motor... well come to find out, it was a flexplate bolt that backed out and locked up everything.

Well my friend, who is helping me, with all this, just pulled the trans and the TQ converter is shot, because the bolt scored a deep grove in it and it's now useless.

This is were I need some help guys... I can't afford a TQ converter. Does anyone have an OEM (L60) Converter laying around that they can hook me up with. I can't afford much right now, but I need something asap because the car is on his lift.

I wouldn't ask if I wasn't in this position, right now. I would be humbly grateful for any help guys.

Call the shop Monday and we'll set you up with a stock converter free of charge.

Dude, Jake... Man that's so much, I really don't have the words to express my gratitude; thank you so much!

 

This is cool. Good to see that I bought a converter from a company ready to lend a hand.

 

I would also like to add, Greg cut me a break due to the situation. So FTI has a hand in this just as much as Jake's Performance. I decided to use FTI since they are closer and hopefully it will speed things up.

I was going to have a basic reman'd unit shipped from one of my suppliers.

We were buried at work today so I didn't have time to see what your combo is but I had Greg do a B85 high stall setup, it will have slightly more stall than a stock converter.

 

I need to give the guys at FTI a call and express my gratitude to them, as well.

It's an LQ9 with a cam and 410 gears.

Pretty cool guys-Never bought from Jake, but he helps out guys a lot, and having dealt with Greg @ FTI he is a stand up guy

 

Just shows their is still good out their in the last two weeks is my first dealing with Jake since I just bought his 4l80e rebuild kit and have spoke with him several times and highly recommend to anyone. So after reading this decided to call FTI and I like what I got worked with them and looks to be getting my money here in a week or two also.
