99 K1500 5.7 with 01 5.3 4L60E?
Picked up a 99 K1500 with the 5.7 off my brother in law. Trans was blown and he picked up a 4l60e from a 01 Silverado 5.3.
The 5.3 torque convertor doesn't line up to the 5.7 flex plate. Can I simply pick up a 5.3 flex plate and bolt it up to the 5.7, then use the 01 5.3 trans and be good? Been trying to research it the past week and all I'm finding is contradicting info and guesses.

Sorry no one replied yet; I don't know if a "'99 K1500 with the 5.7" is an LT or LS engine.
If LS, I'm surprised because all LS-style converters have the same 11.066" bolt pattern.
If an LT engine, an LS-style 4L60E trans will not fit without great effort and expense.

If you have the 5.7, you will either need a custom converter with LS guts and the LT front cover, or just get the corresponding LT transmission. The LS flexplate will not simply bolt on to your crank.

Sounds good, thanks for the info. Was hoping it'd be as simple as getting a 5.3 flex plate or 5.7 tc since he already had the trans and a new 5.3 tc lol. Owell off to track down a trans tomorrow.

Since you are going the LT-style trans route, I will add that the '94 and '95 will not work with your PCM. So you need a '96 or later, which is mostly '96 and '97.
Having said that, you might contact CircleD about a custom converter. Since they build every converter "custom" anyway, the LT-LS combo Brian mentioned might not cost much more than a standard one.

We can certainly do this, but it would have to be with our billet parts. We designed the system to be extremely interchangeable. An LT front on an LS converter is a cake walk and would not cost anything extra. The only problem is this is a likely a stockish daily driver/work truck that doesn't need a $1000 higher stall converter.
