Transmission filter fitment?

Transmission filter fitment? Hey quick question, I just removed the old filter seal and pressed in a new one with a 3/4'' socket. That all went smoothly but when i installed the filter it looks like it's sitting at an angle and not flush up against the bottom of the transmission. Does the filter sort of slope a bit? i can get a picture if needed.
Check the gasket that's in the hole the filter inserts into and make sure it's in there straight (is this new or old filter gasket?). The filter body should be fairly parallel with the valve body.

new filter gasket. i made sure the gasket is flush inside where it fits before installing the filter. But i couldn't get the filter to sit parallel. It kind of sags down towards the rear.

Thank you guys for your quick responses....... i was able to get the filter a little more parallel but its not flush up to the tranny like i would imagine it should be. Im charging my phone right now it was too dead to take a picture. I'll have it up in a couple minutes.

Sorry for the delay. I removed it completely (it was really hard to remove) and re-installed it and it pops in very snug but back into the same position as in the photo.
