Recommend a trans cooler?
Can I get some recommendations for a stand-alone transmission cooler for my project? Specs are as follows:
E39 BMW, weighs somewhere around 3900 lbs.
Approx 450 hp 6.0L LS
4L80E with Jakes stage 2 rebuild kit
Stock "high stall" converter.
Not a race car, no drag strip duty but will be driven spiritedly.
It will be a stand-alone install, no cooler in the radiator. Will be mounted in front of the aluminum radiator. Preferably a bar & plate type (not a tube & fin) equipped with AN-6 fluid fittings.
Thanks!

I run the B&M 70266. I have yet to see over 160 degrees on the street and the highest I have hit was about 180 on a road course.
It is mounted right in front of my radiator and bypassing the stock radiator cooler.
This is with a yank ss3600 that gets driven very hard in hot humid Minnesota heat during the summer.

I run the 11" B&M cooler with my Th400, no fan on it mounted behind my intercooler haven't seen over 180 degrees. The only time it got that warm was back to back to back pulls with it pushing through the converter bad. They work very well.
I run a 70274 on my car and my truck. My car driving around town stays between 120-145 depending on day or night time and has never been over 180 at the drag strip.
My truck is a 5.3 crew cab Silverado and even towing with it stays at 150. Neither one of mine have a fan on it.

My fabricator is friend is making me a small KILLER CHILLER type cooler. Gonna use the refridgerant to cool it through a small A2W cooler. But instead of water being cooled...it will be the tranns fluid........
