The weight reduction for aftermarket converters usually come from the smaller diameter size

With no fluid in the converters the 11" factory 4L60 converter is 42lbs.

It varies on the manufacturer of the converter but most 9.5" billet 4L60 converters are in the 30-32lb range if they're utilizing a billet lock-up piston like we do in our builds.

The stock converter with fluid can anchor a small boat, that's all you need to know. A good lightweight efficient race converter will transform your car at any speed / rpm.
