4L80E conversion help
Good morning!
I am putting a 4l80e, 1995, into a 2002 f body. I have found plety of FAQ's on the procedure, however after hours of searching on several days, they are all older and do not contain any pictures anymore.
I was hoping if anyone has any pictures of the BFH I may need to do in the trans tunnel, and what i need to cut off this trans to make room for it.
thanks for your help...

The trouble area tends to be in the area of the cooler fittings and electrical connector.
IIRC, some people have used Banjo fittings to reduce the need to hammer out or even cut the tunnel.
Edit: See post #14 for a pic of the Banjo fittings.

There are far to many Header configurations for anyone to tell you if or how much you need to cut the "ears" on the Case.
I'm running Hooker Blackheart 1-7/8" mid length, And the passenger side "ear" barely hits the header, I'm going to trim it a little.
A '95 case will have both cooler fittings toward the front of the case....So you don't have to worry about the rear cooler fitting.
Install the 2 cooler fittings off you old 4L60E on the 4L80E.
You will have to tweak the lines a little because the cooler bosses point straight out the side of the case.
I already massaged the passenger side of the tunnel in about 3/4" when it still had a 4L60E & the cooler line would fit fine if I was running a conventional lube 4L80E, Where the 4L60E Servo is where I massaged the tunnel.
You will need to cut a piece out off the floor brace on the driver side where the connector comes out.
All in all.......4L80E's fit the 4th gen F-body very well!!
The yellow square is approximately what will have to be removed from the Floor Brace. I'm going to use a Radiac/Cut-off wheel.

The yellow square is where I massaged the tunnel.
The red arrow is where the lower cooling line fitting would be if this was a early case.
The Blue arrow is the top cooler fitting hole (Front/Feed in my case), I already tweaked the line to fit.
I'm going to cut the other line, Braze on a -6AN fitting & run a braided hose to a Banjo for the Return/Lube.
From the angle of this photo......It doesn't look like the tunnel needs much....If anything done.

My $250 UMI crossmember needs to be modified......VERY disappointed, I'm going to call them tomorrow. Not sure I want to send it back & risk getting another wrong one?
Just a heads up if you plan on buying a UMI one.
It sits crooked in the car & hits the pan rail on the passenger side. Slotting the passenger mounting holes & sliding it back should sit it straight & clear the pan rail. I will use a mill so it doesn't look hacked-up & set my OCD on fire.....

Clinebarger, excellent pictures!
My G force x member for my old car needed to use the tall trans mount + a 1/4" spacer so my distributor would clear the fire wall.
1st time I lowered the trans down with th350 mount it broke the cap and rotor off my distributor!
The darn mounting section hangs WAY too low!
The bolt holes were right in line.
If it was a LS engine it probably wouldn't have had an issue.
I really can't believe that I had to do this to make this fit in my 44yr old car! LOL!
I could have used the short shift shaft tho.
It's kinda close to the header.
