Who besides Yank and FTI are good builders? Im currently running FTI but stepping up the power and want to go to a 9.5 billet....Im going to try to call Yank tomorrow with my future set up and see what they suggest and have out there...Have left 2 messages with FTI last week and no call back...So Yank is looking like the one....Besides those 2, are there any others recommended? I have a 2000 WS6 and about to pull the cammed LS1 and go with a TSP 418 with stage 3 (231/236 .640"/.615) LS3 cam...I don't want a huge stall, but don't want it trying to pull at the stoplight either....I have the street brawler 3k stall and love how it drives....My current cam is only 228/232 610/590 on 112...I still want something that is traffic friendly as I drive this car pretty often....

I'm using a 9.5 from PTC. It stalls 5200 and drives like a dream around town..... and that's in a full weight f body with 2:73s.

5200 would be ridiculous for my set up...

I was looking at the 9.5 billet from FTI, but I guess they don't need my business...Im probably going to go with Yank PT or SS series..Going to call them today and see what they suggest for the set up...

I pulled my SS 3600 out, which was a damn nice converter, for a re-stall to a PT 4000 for my new setup.

I love both the SS and PT series but for my heads cam build this PT 4000 is going to fly.

I was going to go with a PT 4400 but was talked out of it due to "only" spinning my motor to 6800 rpms. He said if I spun to 7000+ the 4400 would be more useful.

Also said the SS series will 60' better and the PT series will mph better.

With the ss3600, Lt's, ory and 3.73's my car would 60' 1.71

My buddy with the same setup, 3.23's Lt's ory and PT 4000 would 60' 1.63

I have heard the SS 3600 feels like stock just driving around...The SB3000LS in mine now has very good street manners until you floor it...This will be a more street oriented car than something that will live at the track or street racing all the time...STR plays a part in my choice also...Couple more hours it will be lunch and will be able to give Yank a call..

I also have the ss3600 and have used it for 5 years. It's a great street converter, but I feel like I want something different for my next combo. I'm pretty sure the lockup clutch is going in it so there's another reason I want to either get it restalled to a 4000 or try a new company's converter.

Chevyss8, sorry we missed your call! We recently discovered we were having issues with our voice message system so this may have been the cause for us missing your messages! Send me your contact info and I will have one of the converter guys give you a call ASAP!

Coan Engineering builds some excellent custom converters. Nobody seems to talk much about them, but they do top notch stuff. Everything from promods to monster trucks to weekend warriors. Those guys have 40+ years of experience.
