just wondering how did everyone's built tranny(rpm,flt,performabuilt) improve there 1/4 mile times

Assuming the converter is the same, Your old unit was not slipping.........You may go slower with more friction plates & Higher line pressure.

well i called rpm and repeated what you said and well i cleaned it up a little but he said no to what you said.

OK, I wasn't really after any confirmation as what I said is basic common sense.........

A Wide 2-4 Band, More 3-4 Frictions, Higher Line Pressure, Bigger Servos & HD return springs won't make your car faster unless the trans was slipping or the 3-4 clutch piston is creeping at high RPM in 1st/2nd gear.

I DID NOT say it would absolutely make your car slower, I said it MAY make it slower.

It might be .01 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile, but the trans will last a lot longer; a blown trans make you months slower.

EDIT: Agree with RevGTO that crisper/quicker shifts will improve the times.

As mentioned above, if it was slipping while shifting, of course good crisp shifts will improve times. A good shift kit and a proper tuning for the new unit will also give you a little something compared to an old tired one.

Lol why would a rebuilt transmission go any faster then the same transmission thats not built? Building a 4l60e is a good idea and if you put an aftermarket converter and cooler it will go much faster! RPM transmissions builds the best 4l60e you can buy btw!

well my speed shop told me i should be saving for tranny after i installed my heads,cam.looking at a level 5,6.end game is probably 5-550hp at the crank
