I just have a simple question.

FTI is cutting/cleaning my SRLS converter. It was originally a 3000, kinda tight, and I explained what I was looking for and they are going to a 3800 hard hit.

What's the hard hit part? I asked for more stall, less rpm drop off between shifts. It is in a heavy xcab truck with 4.10s and a 226/232 cam.

Not that I am doubting them, I'm not. I'm curious about the hard hit part.

Yank 4K with 4.10 gears and its my DD and I do a lot of hwy driving it drives fine and is always in its powerband although I did have weld wheels with 275-60-15s and it offset the gear somewhat though

My guess is the hard hit vs the regular is the difference in str. The higher the str the tighter the converter will feel. The lower the str the looser it will feel and be more efficient at higher rpms .

This is for yank converters but here is a chart for stall torque ratio (str) for there different lines of converters
