Default 4l60E lockup randomly disengaging

i have had the tune set to lock up at 45 but for as long as i can remember it will only lockup when it feels like it. some times it wont lock up at all sometimes it will lock up right at 45.

now i noticed a new problem today when i went on a 30 mile trip down the highway. when it finally decides to lock it will only stay locked for about an 1/8 mile at a time and even with no change in throttle it will just unlock, then it will lock again after a half mile or more and repeat.

anything specific that would cause this issue? transmission shifts perfectly. has a circle d 4c 3800 single disk converter and transmission was rebuilt a year ago with all new solenoids and wire harness.

I have something similar happening. Does it unlock completely or just slip a few hundred RPM in 4th? I am doing a Transgo HD2 kit and a Fitzall TCC valve.

Hope this helps.

I can't really remember how I had this fixed, but had the same issue 7 or 8 years ago. I know it can be tuning with the misfire tables or it can be that TCC valve solenoid or something. It can be either or/both.

Google it, it's a common problem.
