Default Converter?

I just installed a yank torque converter in my 4l60e and didn't verify the flywheel to mounting tabs distance. I already torqued it down to the flywheel and was wondering if I could just unbolt it and check the clearance then?

Yes it was. I even measured the transmission bellhousing to converter mounting pads to be 1.125 but didn't measure the converter to flywheel since I thought that would be good.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to use to get a measurement? I have attached a photo to show the clearance after I unbolted it and pushed it back.

You can also use the depth finder side of a digital caliper.
Put flat end on flex plate, push depth finder in until it hits converter pad, subtract flex plate thickness and you have a exact and easy measurement

Make sure when making any measurement, that the mounting pad on the torque converter is directly over the bolt hole in the flex plate. You could use a feeler gauge here too. When you start to get resistance with the feeler gauge, add the different thicknesses up and that will be your clearance. The ideal flex plate to torque converter clearance is .100" - .125". If you have more clearance than this, come back with the number you have here.
