Default Anyone using FAST standalone transmission controller?

Anyone using FAST standalone transmission controller? I'm thinking about using it instead of switching from an M6 ECM to an A4 ECM. It apparantly works with the stock harness and computer, which is nice. Anyone have any info? Thanks,

Wes

Hi Wes,
I've been using one in my Cutlass for several years now. It includes its own wiring harness as well, so you don't have to use the factory stuff. It allows data logging capabilities as well. You can log engine rpm and mph.
I highly recommend it.

Cool, thanks. I heard it can be adjusted as well. Is that right?

It's fully programmable. You can change part throttle shift points, WOT shift points, shift firmness, and lockup mph...amongst other things...

You should not have to change PCM's to run an A4 in the car, just get the PCM tuned and the tables turned on to control the trans. Or get an A4 tune loaded into it.

I got one (TCI-Branded) and run it with a 4L80-E. I have ZERO complaints about it. I have my trans set up to shift smooth as silk with low throttle position and ramp up to enough firmness WOT to lock the seatbelts. It's also programmable for how firmly and when to lock TCC WOT or not, downshift hysteris, Max-RPM for forcing a shift, and a bunch of other cool stuff. You can set line pressure duty-cycle % for all throttle positions for each gear. (Tip on this, adjust the pressure of the gear it's shifting into for shift firmness and that shift.) It also has external switch hook ups for slapstick mode (very cool) and an econ/performance mode where line pressure gets bumped by the percentage of your choosing from 0-25.

The only inputs these need are 12v, tach, and TPS. EXCELLENT product.

BTW, GM Performance Parts sells this exact unit with their own label on it for a few hundred dollars more.
