Break down on a 4L75E Hey guys I just took delivery of a 4L75E and have to swap out the output shaft to make it work in a 4WD application.(08 H3 Alpha w/LS2)
I've only rebuilt 10 or so 60E's and don't have endless knowledge on them. If you guys would like to know what's in one I would be happy to oblige. The issue being I don't know everything to look for.
So, I will post some pics of what I see and if you want to see more or have me look at something specific please chime in!

Here's what I have apart now.
The 2nd and 4th servos are the Sonnax Super Holds. I'm not sure if the 2nd servo comes with the springs already in it so I took it apart to see which ones were there.
I'm thinking the 2-3 shift valve is also the Sonnax Heavy Duty
2-3 Shift Valve. (Based on the hole in VB wall) I don't have it apart yet to inspect.
The 1-2 accumulator valve has the YZ stamp in it which I believe is just the latest one they are using. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Very cool. Did they put the Sonnax sleeved check valve in the case? Curious to know what the separator plate is drilled out to.

Clutches are out. There are 8 Borg Warner HE .062" frictions and 7 .092" steels that are a blue-ish color. They are the same ones you can get in the Delco kit pic below. But the kit only comes with 7 frictions and 6 steels. Surprisingly there was .086" clearance in the 3-4 clutch pack too. I thought it would have been close to .040".
I haven't pulled apart the pump yet. I'm not sure how to tell which boost valve they are using or how to figure out the exact springs they installed. Any ideas?
They are still using the plastic piston with a heavy yellow spring in the 1-2 accumulator. Possibly ACDelco 24220146.

Yeah, it seems a bit lazy not to stuff the Sonnax housing with 9 plates and leave such a loose spec.

Is it possible that it could have been a quality vs. quantity decision on the band? I know that is the same band that went into our 70E rebuild.
Does it have a billet shaft(s)?
As for the boost valve, just pop it out and measure the ID. Post a picture and I am certain we can identify who made it.

Thats where I got it from. I called my local dealership buddy and he said he couldn't get it. His computer showed no known available inventory. Summit was out too.

They shipped it with fluid in it? Get rid of that plastic piston and get an aluminum one (don't forget the seal). Make sure you get the one without legs. Looks like a decent spring. If you want a firmer shift, you can put the spring on the plate side.

The stock width Borg Warner HE band will handle a ton of power, The only issue with them is the anchor plate deforming or getting ripped off......Keep the 2nd feed hole conservative, And you won't have any problems.
With your plastic accumulator pistons being new......They will be good for 100,000 miles.

I'm sure the plastic ones would do just fine but I've got the aluminum ones already and it would pain me to leave them out.
I'm sure we won't have a problem with the HE band but when they advertise a wider one you would expect a wider one. It's just irritating.
Here is the space plate as it came. The holes circled are the ones that were different from 5 old stock ones that I have pulled out.
Anybody know what the upper right one is?
