Teach me flexplates
Hi everybody. I have an interesting circumstance here. I'm doing an LS swap into a BMW, and using the BMW gearbox. Already have the adapter plate. The adapter plate setup sandwiches a stock automatic flexplate behind the custom flywheel so we can use the stock LS starter. The most I know about GM flexplates is they occasionally crank, and I get paid to replace it. For this application, would a stock flexplate be OK? Should I be looking at something aftermarket? If so, what? What makes the aftermarket one 'better'? Thanks in advance.
